Want to be a Homeroom Parent?
It’s is a wonderful opportunity and vital service to your child’s classroom being a fun and supported learning environment! The Home School Association (HSA) and your child’s teacher need several parents from each classroom for this flexible volunteer position. Your role will be to support classroom and grade-level special activities (in-school learning events, parties, trip chaperones) and to help connect the parents from your classroom to grade-level and school-wide initiatives from the HSA.
1. Organize parent support for in school and in class activities (e.g., class parties, grade-level special activities or representative.
2. Coordinate chaperones for field trips.
3. Liaison between classroom parents and HSA.
Parents who volunteer for this role often participate in many of the activities, but share the role with other homeroom volunteers, and other parents from the classroom. In other words: you don’t have to do it all by yourself! Now that you know more…give it a try!
